Welcome to the Great Lakes Beadworkers Guild

Thank you for checking us out!

Welcome to the Great Lakes Beadworkers Guild (GLBG), where beads are more than just objects with a hole, but highly suspect of having individual personalities.

Founded in 1992 in Royal Oak, Michigan, we are a non-profit organization of about 300 members in Southeast Michigan who meet at least monthly in meetings and classes to learn more about all aspects of beadwork.

Welcome to the Great Lakes Beadworkers Guild (GLBG), where beads are more than just objects with a hole, but highly suspect of having individual personalities.

Founded in 1992 in Royal Oak, Mi, we are a non-profit organization of about 300 members in Southeast Michigan who meet at least monthly in meetings and classes to learn more about all aspects of beadwork.

Twice a year we sponsor the Bead Bonanza, a one-day bead show and sale to keep bead coffers in the area well filled. The Bead Bonanza is open to the public and is a great day for bead lovers everywhere to gather, gaze, and purchase.

Members of the GLBG receive a bi-monthly newsletter, The Beader Reader" with news of upcoming programs and classes. Members also get priority in registrations for workshops with visiting, nationally known instructors. For a peak at our newsletter, here is a teaser to look at: Mini Beader Reader. For a look at our line-up of wonderful classes for this year, please visit our Guild Event Calendar page (above).

At the monthly meetings, GLBG members may borrow books and bead-related videos from the Guild Library.

For information on our meeting location, please click on the "Meeting and Location Info" button link.
